Henry McKenna 10 Year
Bill and Jim are fresh off a whiskey tasting at our favorite liquor store, where we learn some new things! Among them: “bottled-in-bond” and the legalities in certifying bourbon as 100 proof, some history of the bourbon trade including the origin of the charred oak barrel, and that September is the Official Bourbon Month (by Congressional decree!). But we decide to maintain May as HopscotchWorld’s Bourbon Month, and record this bourbon review on Kentucky Derby Day 2017!
With a deep, satisfying heat, a little sweetness, and a slight woody dryness, the delightful complexity of this bourbon makes for a wonderful treat on a damp and chilly spring day! And the price tag makes this the best value of any of the whiskies we’ve sampled to date!
So join us, friend, in singing My Old Kentucky Home and toasting the Run for the Roses with a glass of Henry McKenna 10 Year-old bourbon!
